Photocatalytic air purification

Elimination of viruses and other microorganisms by applying UV/photocatalytic air purification, effective against odors, volatiles and hazardous gases

Where many people gather, the spread of viruses and other germs is lurking. During the (during) day people are in contact with other people a lot and often for a long time, consequences viruses can very easily spread from person to many others.

Large buildings are almost always equipped with a central air treatment system that recirculates the air and cools or heats it if desired. This circulation of air spreading viruses greatly.

Air treatment or HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) systems are generally equipped with filters to prevent the spread of contaminants. These filters are almost always too coarse to stop the microscopic viruses. In addition, the effect of a filter during its operation of the filter is effective if it is (almost) new.

In fact; the dark and often humid conditions in an HVAC system make the filters an optimal hotbed for microorganisms and is often an aggravating factor rather than an improvement.

MCI air disinfection technology

SNE developed the MCI (Multy-Catalytic Ionisation) air disinfection technology for application in the air ducts of air circulation systems such as air conditioning, air circulation and balanced ventilation systems. The use of ultraviolet light in combination with photocatalysis kills the micro-organisms in the air and oxidizes odors and volatile compounds. The applied technologies have been developed and patented by SNE itself.

The effect of UV light against viruses, bacteria and fungi has been known for many years and is used for the disinfection of surfaces, objects, water and air. UV light is therefore an effective solution for purifying the air in a building’s air treatment system.

The effect of a UV lamp can be further increased by combining it with a photocatalytic filter, which is a material on which the UV light shines. The titanium dioxide (TiO²) is activated by the UV light and starts to produce unstable molecules that spread in the air, these molecules attach themselves to the molecular structures of harmful substances and break them down and make them harmless. This action is to some extent comparable to that of a catalytic converter in a car, here the catalytic reaction is triggered by heat instead of UV light.

Easy to install

The SNE units are easy to install in an air duct or air handling unit, making a few holes is sufficient to install the unit, the units are provided with a cable with plug so that the power supply can easily run through the socket or through a connection to the air handling unit .

Multi photocatalytic odor control

Models

SNE CAP
Compact devices for mounting in the return ducts of an air handling system, these devices purify the recirculating air and prevent polluted air from individual rooms from being spread throughout the building. The SNE CAP units can also be installed in an air purifier or other air handling unit. These devices have one UV/photocatalytic cell and are available in ozone producing (H) or ozone-free (V) versions.

SNE FAP
These units are for installation in an air handling unit or at a central location from where the air is distributed through a ventilation system and are for larger air volumes compared to the CAP units. These devices have two UV/photocatalytic cells and are available in ozone producing (DF) or ozone-free (DV) versions.

SNE RAS
The same technology as the CAP and FAP units is used in this model, but this unit does not need to be installed in an air handling system, air duct or air handling unit. The SNE RAS has been developed for wall mounting so that this unit generates the same air-purifying effect in a self-contained space such as basement, gym, locker room, workshop or other space where the air sterilizing and odor-reducing effect of an SNE unit is required.

SNE FEB
Similar in construction to the CAP and FAP units, these units are intended for odor control and can be installed in exhaust ducts, extractors or exhaust ducts, these units produce ozone for effective, long lasting and stable odor control.
